Mass Effect 2, no. Mass Effect 3, yes. EA decided to put its own want for dominating and controlling customers post-purchase over decency and common sense, so the game “validates” DLC on each game launch. If you’re offline (or EA servers aren’t running), you won’t be able to load the saves that use any bits of DLC. Oh, and if you pirate the game along with its DLC, you don’t have to be online. Makes sense. Mitranim
