Shiala gave Shepard the cipher thru a melding. And Liara melds minds with Shepard in the first game to help them make sense of the vision. How could she do that if she couldn't even understand anything in it? Why would Liara not receive the cipher or take it when melding with Shepard after Feros?
True Shiala gave Shepard the cypher by melding but it is never said that the cypher is transfered to liara when she melds with you. If I recall (it been a while since I played the first game) it is stated that the cypher is now a part of Shepard, so she just can't take it.Forever224 (talk)
Wasn't the cipher a part of the Thorian and taken? Wasn't the cipher a 'part' of Shiala when it was taken and given to Saren AND Shepard? I mean, Shepard obviously didn't lose it. I'm just wondering why Liara wouldn't have been able to get a 'copy' or understanding of it since she melded with them at LEAST once afterwards?
While we could go back and foward all day ( and I don't have time I'm playing Crash Bandicoot) we have to work with what is presented to us: Shepard has the cypher, and Liara doesn't,as depicted by ME3. Unless there is a recon of some sort, that just the way it is (I consider it laziness on Bioware's part Forever224
Good call haha. Don't see many people winning arguments over the internet, don't know why this would be any different. I understand the 'canon' logic, where she doesn't understand just simply because she doesn't have it. I was just wondering if there were any headcanons or 'theories' out there that could maybe reconcile why however. Because it really is hard for writers to reconcile every conceivable 'plot hole' out there.
